The BGB handed over the pregnant Sonali to the BSF on the request of the Indian High Commission

Following the request of the Indian High Commission, the BGB has handed over Sonali Khatun, a much-discussed pregnant Indian woman who is a victim of inhumane pushing, to the BSF, keeping in view the human risks and international human rights violations caused by the pushing of pregnant women and children by establishing intensive diplomatic communication under the guidance of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Last Friday (December 05) at 7:30 pm at Sonamsjid ICP of Chapainawabganj, pregnant Indian woman Sonali Khatun and her 08-year-old son Md. Sabbir Sheikh were handed over to BSF in a safe and healthy condition. Mahananda Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Golam Kibria was present at this time.
After the handover, Mahananda battalion commander told reporters that this inhuman push action of BSF is a clear violation of international human rights standards and bilateral border management agreement. These actions of Pushin have been creating humanitarian crisis in the border areas for a long time and are being identified as obstacles in the way of amicable border management between the two countries. He also said that against the inhumane pushin behavior of BSF, the Government of Bangladesh, Ministry of Home Affairs and BGB have completed the entire process in a transparent, safe and dignified manner, showing deep respect for human values, international law and neighborly relations. This operation of BGB has set a unique example of justice, humanity and responsibility, especially considering the safety and medical risks to pregnant women and children. BGB hopes that BSF will stop such inhumane and international law-breaking activities including Pushin and amicable border in future.Humane and legal process will be maintained.
