Tanvi, the woman who was discussed in the incident of shooting at the NCP department head in Khulna, was arrested.

Metropolitan Police’s Intelligence Department (DB) has arrested the female suspect Tanima alias Tanvi, who is the subject of the shooting of NCP department head and central organizer of National Workers’ Shakti Motaleb Shikder in Khulna. He was arrested on Monday (December 22) night. However, police did not immediately provide detailed information about the arrest and subsequent legal proceedings.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulna Metropolitan Intelligence Police Taimur Islam confirmed the arrest.

Earlier, Motaleb Shikder (42), convenor of the Sramik Shakti divisional committee of Jatiya Nagrik Party (NCP) labor organization, was mysteriously shot dead in Sonadanga police station area around 11:15 on Monday (December 22). He is under treatment in 9-10 Ward of Surgery Department of Khulna Medical College Hospital. His CT scan report was normal and benign.

The injured Motaleb Sonadanga is the son of deceased Muslim Shikdar of Sheikhpara Pallimangal School area.

Victims and NCP leaders claimed that the shooting took place in front of Gazi Medical College in the city. However, according to the police, the shooting incident took place on the ground floor of a house called “Muktahouse” of Al Aska Mosque Street, 109 Majid Street of the city. Police seized bullet shells, liquor bottles, yaba consumption equipment and evidence of illegal activities from there. Labor leader Motaleb lived there with a woman named Tanima alias Tanvi.
