Coast Guard raid in St. Martin: 1 kg of marijuana seized, no arrests

The Coast Guard has seized 1 kg of ganja worth about 30 thousand taka in a raid at St. Martin’s in Cox’s Bazar.
On Sunday (3 May 2026) around 10 pm, a special team of Bangladesh Coast Guard Station St. Martin conducted an operation based on secret information in the area adjacent to St. Martin JT Ghat.
During the operation, a wooden boat coming from Teknaf Bazar Ghat was searched and about 1 kg of ganja, estimated value of Tk 30,000, was recovered.
However, during the operation, no one was arrested as the drug dealers quickly fled to the locality after sensing the presence of the Coast Guard.
Further legal action against the seized drugs is under process, the Coast Guard said.
According to the Coast Guard,Such operations will continue in the future to protect the youth from the clutches of drugs.
