Three persons were thrashed to death by an angry crowd on the charge of cow theft in Kaliakore of Gazipur. The incident took place at Bagchala Bazar area of ​​Fulbaria Union of the upazila around 4 am on Sunday (May 10). At this time, a pickup van used by the gang was also set on fire.

They raided the house of Abu Bakr Siddiq in Bagchala area. Sensing the presence of the thieves, the householder started shouting and the locals chased them and caught the three. During this time, lock cutting tools, chapati and native weapons were recovered from them. The angry mob later thrashed them and set fire to the pickup van.
On receiving the information, members of the Kaliakor police station and Fulbaria police camp quickly reached the spot and rescued the three injured. When they were taken to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in critical condition, the doctor on duty declared them dead. However, the identity of the deceased was not immediately known.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kaliakor Police Station Shahidul Islam confirmed the truth of the incident and said,After receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
