Sharsha Youth Dal leader Gold Shahid, the shelter of the 32-year-old accused in the murder case!

“Gold Martyr” is a terror to the locals for his long involvement in crime, smuggling and influence in the Sharsha and Benapole border areas of Jessore. Allegations have been made that they have formed their own powerful syndicate in the border area by sheltering the accused in various murder, terrorism and smuggling cases.
According to sources related to the investigation, Yunus Ali (Father: Taher Ali) of Sharsha Upazila of Jessore district has been sentenced to 32 years in the murder case.
He was the accused number 3 of Sharsha police station case no-92 (23/10/1997), GR case no-474/1997 and session case no-248/2003.
Jessore Special Judge (District Judge) and Special Sessions Judge Court pronounced sentence against him on 21/09/2016. However, he was absconding at the time of the verdict and is still absconding.

According to several local sources, the alleged influential ‘Gold Martyr’ has been providing shelter and security to this convicted accused who has been absconding for a long time. It is also alleged that various criminals, including accused in murder cases, are ensured the safe whereabouts of various criminals through his controlled circles across the border.
Residents complain that ordinary people do not dare to open their mouths due to the syndicate formed under the umbrella of Gold Shahid.

He is also alleged to have close links with those involved in gold smuggling, drug trade, extortion and terrorist activities in the border areas.

Meanwhile, the conscious community says,Crime in the border region could take a more serious form if long-term absconding convicts are arrested and their harborers are not brought to book. They demanded a quick investigation and strict action against the real culprits.
