The attack on the artists of this genre is not just an attack on individuals – it is an attack on our cultural values, humanity and decency. The manner in which Baul artists and their followers were attacked by mob terror in Manikganj yesterday is totally inappropriate in this civilized society. We strongly demand the concerned administration to immediately identify the attackers and bring them to justice and demand the unconditional release of Baul artiste Abul Hossain Sarkar.
