GD to police station against misinformation about MP Jasim Uddin and journalist Ghiyas Uddin

A General Diary (GD) has been filed in the police station for spreading false, fabricated and purposeful information on the Comilla-5 Constituency Member of Parliament Haji Jasim Uddin and Mainamati TV Editor Md Ghiyas Uddin. Md Ghiyas Uddin, editor of Mainamati TV, strongly condemned and protested this incident.

It has been reported that through a fake Facebook page on the social media Facebook, misleading and baseless information has been spread about Haji Jasim Uddin, Member of Parliament of Comilla-5 Constituency and Journalist Ghiyas Uddin. Giyas Uddin filed a GD at the police station as a legal action against the slander after the matter came to notice. Also, two more general diaries have been made in Burichong and Brahmanpara police stations.

He alleged that a nefarious group is systematically spreading propaganda to tarnish the political and social image of Member of Parliament Haji Jasim Uddin. He also claimed that the information disseminated using fake ID has no match with the reality.

Md Ghiyas Uddin said, “I have been associated with the media activities of MP Jasim Uddin for a long time. I have been spreading the news of his various development activities, public involvement activities and political programs. But a group is systematically trying to create confusion in the public mind by spreading false and misleading information about MP Jasim Uddin and me.

He also said, “There is no basis for these information being circulated. These propagandas are being carried out for personal and political humiliation. Such lies are against journalistic ethics and social values.

Calling upon the relevant authorities to take necessary legal action against those who spread misinformation, he said, social media users should refrain from trusting or sharing any information without verification.

He said, “The path of revealing the truth never stops. The trust of the public cannot be destroyed through misinformation and lies. We will always be vocal against these misdeeds.

Meanwhile, after the incident, a local journalist,Political leaders and activists have called for a united stand against false propaganda and emphasized on ensuring responsible behavior on social media.
