What kind of society are we building in the bottle of Phencidil and Scup in the drain?

The fact that numerous empty bottles of Indian Phencidil and Scup were found while cleaning drains in Badshah Mia Bazaar in Comilla city is not just a news story, it is a dire warning for our society.

Drugs that were once consumed in secret are now openly seeping down the drain. The question is – where did these bottles come from? Who is using it? And why so many bottles accumulated in one area?

Drugs don’t just destroy a person; It breaks up a family, increases crime in the society, spoils the future of the young generation and creates major hurdles in the development of the nation. These bottles recovered from the drain prove that the menace of drugs is still active around us.

It is not possible to eliminate drugs only with the operation of law enforcement agencies. A collective initiative of families, educational institutions, social organizations, religious institutions and conscious citizens is required. Parents need to be more responsible about where their children go, who they associate with, what they are doing.

Today, the bottles found in the drains are pointing us in the eye, the problem still runs deep. So let us all build a social movement against drugs. Engage youth in sports, education and creative activities. Socially discourage drug peddlers and drug addicts and cooperate with the administration by providing information.

An empty Phencidyl bottle is not just a bottle, it may symbolize a broken dream. Let us protect our future generations.Build a drug free society.
