Russell’s body was hanging from a tree in Birganj Paltapur.

Birganj Thana Police recovered the hanging body of a youth named Russell Rana (22) from Shalbon of Dinajpur’s Birganj Upazila. The body was recovered from Shalbon area adjacent to Beltali Bazar of Paltapur Union of Upazila on Tuesday (June 2) morning.
The deceased is the son of Shahidul Islam of Purva Vogdoma village of Russell Rana upazila.
According to local sources, some people of Bhogdoma village went to Beltali Salbagan to collect litchi at around 6 am on Tuesday and found Russel Rana’s body hanging from a palm tree. Later, when the matter was reported to the local UP member Shahidul Islam, he informed the police station.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Birganj Circle) Shaon Sarkar, Birganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) after receiving the news. A police team including Saiful Islam reached the spot and recovered the body. Later, the body was sent to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital morgue for post-mortem.
OC of Birganj Police Station. Saiful Islam said,The body of the rescued youth was found with injury marks in different places. Whether it was murder or suicide can be confirmed after getting the post-mortem report. He also said that preparations are underway to file a case at the police station.
