Prayer and discussion meeting at Shivchar on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of martyred President Ziaur Rahman

On the occasion of the 45th martyrdom anniversary of martyred president, herald of great freedom and founder of BNP, Ziaur Rahman, a prayer and discussion meeting was held at Shivchar in Madaripur.

The event was organized by the upazila and municipal BNP, organs and allied organizations at Ambia Hakimiya Darul Uloom Orphanage Madrasa Ground of Shibchar Municipality on Friday (June 5) at noon.

Madaripur-2 Constituency Member of Parliament and District BNP Member Secretary Jahandar Ali Mia was present as the chief guest on the occasion. District BNP convener Advocate Zafar Ali Mia was the main speaker. Shivchar Upazila BNP convenor Shahadat Hossain Khan presided over the event and member secretary Sohel Rana conducted the event.

District BNP Joint Convener Mizanur Rahman Murad, Madaripur-1 Constituent Candidate Nadira Akhter, BNP’s nominee for the Thirteenth National Assembly Elections, Bashar Siddiqui, Deputy General Secretary of Central Jubo Dal, Upazila BNP Member Motahar Howladar, Municipal BNP Convener Abul Kalam Mallick, Senior Joint Convener Hemayet Hossain Khan, spoke at this time. In the discussion meeting, the speakers highlighted various aspects of martyred President Ziaur Rahman’s working life, his contribution to the freedom struggle of the country, the establishment of multi-party democracy and his role in national development. They said that Ziaur Rahman played an important role in the political history of the country and his ideals still inspire nationalist political activists.

In the speech of the chief guest, Jahandar Ali Mia said that Ziaur Rahman was an important figure in the freedom and democratic spirit of the country. He worked to establish the political rights of the people of the country and to strengthen the national unity. He said that the nationalist forces should work unitedly for the development of the country and the welfare of the people.

He also said that various public welfare initiatives of the current government are being implemented to fulfill the expectations of the people. He urged everyone to work together to convey the benefits of these initiatives to the common people.
