BSF ‘push-in’ 28 Bangladeshis at the border

It is reported that 28 Bangladeshi nationals were ‘pushed-in’ by the Indian Border Guard Force (BSF) in the Bangabari border area of Gomstapur Upazila in Chapainawabganj. After this incident, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has increased security and patrolling activities in the border area.
According to BGB and local sources, at around 3 am on Thursday (June 4) the 28 people were pushed into the territory of Bangladesh by the members of Ashrafpur camp of 12 BSF battalion of India with the responsible border pillar 203/6-R of Bangabari BOP under Naogaon battalion. Among the pushed-in people are: Men: 12 Women: 10 Children: 6.

A patrol team of Bangabari BOP quickly reached the spot after receiving the news of the incident. They identify the push-ins near the Zero Line along the Indian border. They are currently staying there.
After the incident, additional BSF personnel have been deployed along the border and surveillance has been increased at various points by India.
According to the BGB, following international border laws and conventional diplomatic processes, the push-Initiatives will be taken to send back (pushback) these people who are in. At present, the concerned authorities are closely monitoring the situation and preparations are underway to take further necessary action.
