
World Environment Day is celebrated in East Dhamrai by Food for Hungary
On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, a colorful rally and discussion meeting was held at East Dhamrai CRC, Kulla Union under the theme “Tackling Plastic Pollution” under the initiative of Food for the Hungary (FH). People from different classes and professions of the area participated in this program organized with the aim of creating public awareness on environmental protection.
At the beginning of the program, a rally circumambulates the various roads of Kulla Union. The participants in the rally displayed various awareness slogans calling for the creation of an environment-friendly society. “Plant trees, save the environment” and “Sabai mille garbo desh, clean Bangladesh” chanted the slogans of the whole area.
The discussion held later highlighted the importance of joint initiatives to protect the environment. DF Jharna Sarkar of Food for the Hungary (FH) East Dhamrai CRC addressed the meeting. He said that personal awareness and social responsibility are very important to prevent environmental pollution. It is possible to ensure a beautiful and safe future by reducing the use of plastic and using environmentally friendly alternatives.
Maryam Begum and Rozina Khanam, ward women members of Kulla Union were present as special guests. They emphasized on the active participation of women in protecting the environment and urged everyone to work together to raise awareness.
About 225 general public including dignitaries of the area, women leaders and people of various classes and professions participated in the event. Speakers said that even small initiatives in environmental protection can bring big changes. Therefore, everyone should come forward from their respective positions to build a clean and pollution-free Bangladesh.At the end of the discussion meeting, the end of the program was announced by expressing the commitment to work unitedly to protect the environment.
