
New committee of Rangamati District Chhatra Dal pays tribute to Ziaur Rahman’s tomb

The newly elected committee of Rangamati District Chhatra Dal has officially started the organizational activities by paying respects at the first burial place of martyred President Ziaur Rahman. Today Tuesday (May 5) afternoon at Pomra Union of Chittagong’s Rangunia Upazila, this program was started by placing wreaths, praying and chanting at Zia’s tomb.
Leaders present;
Newly elected President of Rangamati District Chhatra Dal Md. Ali Ahad, General Secretary Naemul Islam Rani, Senior Vice President Khairul Islam Rana and Organizing Secretary Ghalib Hasan were present during the tribute.
Also present among other leaders of the District Committee were:
Vice Presidents: Jyoti Chakma, Mahmudul Hasan Jewel, Rajan Rakshit, Abdus Salam, Aminul Islam, Rana Pal, Sumon Hossain and Md. Ishaq.
Joint General Secretary: Hasan Imran, Shafiqul Islam and Sajid Imtiaz.

Rangamati Government College: President Omar Morshed, General Secretary Shariful Islam Shakeel and Organizing Secretary Alvi Hasan Naeem.
Longadu Upazila: Convenor Raihanul Haque and Member Secretary Tanjir Hossain.
Kaukhali Government College: Convener Md Imran and Member Secretary Naeem Hasan.
Karnaphuli Government Degree College: Member Secretary, Sohel Tanchangya.
Rajasthan Upazila: Member Secretary, Sajan Tanchangya.
Jurachhari Upazila: Member Secretary, Kallol Chakma.
Bengalhali Government College: Convener Md. Sultan.
Organizational goals and commitments
After paying tribute, District Chhatra Dal president Oli Ahad said, “Chhatra Dal is a tried and tested organization in Rajpath in the movement to establish democracy. We will take the ideals of Shaheed Zia and Prime Minister Tariq Rahman and evaluate the dedicated and worthy workers in the full committee in the coming days. Through orderly politics, Chhatra Dal will be strengthened in Rangamati.”
Local leaders and activists expressed hope that under the leadership of this new committee, the organizational activities at the grassroots level of the district will be more dynamic and accelerated.
Note,This 23-member partial committee of Rangamati District Chhatra Dal was approved in a circular signed by the Central Chhatra Dal President and General Secretary last Saturday.
