Allegations of death threats and attacks in the press conference, seeking the administration’s intervention

Md. Saiful Islam, a resident of Galdapara village of Kawraid Union of Sreepur Upazila of Gazipur, through a press conference, requested the administration’s urgent intervention regarding the attacks, assassination attempts and continued death threats on him.

Reading the written statement at the press conference, he said that for a long time one party has been creating disputes against him and his family in various ways. He claimed that on May 31, 2026, at around 9 am, he was ambushed after an arbitration meeting held in front of Monir Market.
In a written statement, he said that after the arbitration was over, when his niece protested against the objectionable comments about Md. Saddam Hossain, the opponent got angry and attacked him.

At that time, he was killed, punched and kicked in various parts of his body. He alleged that at one point, he was strangled and tried to strangle him.
He also said that hearing his screams, the people around came forward and rescued him. Later he and his family members were threatened with various types of damages including death. He claimed that he was even threatened to damage his niece’s business and implicate him in a false case.

In the press conference, Md Saiful Islam said, “I and my family members are currently living in extreme insecurity. Any time there may be loss of life and property. There are witnesses and evidence of the incident and I have informed the local dignitaries and filed a written complaint with the police station in the hope of legal redress.”

He strongly demanded the administration to investigate the incident properly, take legal action against the culprits and provide security to his family.Locals present at the press conference called for unbiased investigation of the incident to reveal the real truth.
