Cleanliness campaign and rally held to prevent dengue in Madaripur

In keeping with the motto “Keep clean, create a beautiful environment”, coordinated cleanliness drive and awareness rally was held in Madaripur to prevent dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases.

On Saturday (June 6) morning, on the initiative of the district administration, the rally started from the circuit house premises on Shakuni lakeside of the city and went around various important roads of the city and ended in front of the office building along with the lakeside.

Madaripur-2 Constituency Member of Parliament and District BNP Member Secretary Jahandar Ali Mia was present as the chief guest in the program. He said that in addition to public awareness to prevent dengue, it is important to keep the house and surrounding environment clean regularly. It is possible to build a dengue-free society with everyone’s collective efforts.

In the event, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Morzina Akhter, Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Jewel Ahmed, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Wadia Shabab, representatives of various public and private institutions, members of voluntary organizations and local dignitaries participated.

After the rally, cleaning activities were conducted. At this time, the breeding grounds of mosquitoes are destroyed.
