Robbery in moving auto in Rajshahi, money-mobile robbery at gunpoint

In Rajshahi, there has been an incident of kidnapping of passengers in a moving auto-rickshaw. The incident took place on Tuesday (date to be noted) at around 8:00 pm on the way to Varnali area from Rajib Chatwar in the city.
The victims alleged that they boarded an autorickshaw from the closed gate area. There were a total of five passengers in the auto, three of whom were later found to be gang members.
En route, a mugger deliberately stepped on a passenger’s leg, sparking an argument. At one point, they used their influence to show intimidation and suddenly took out knives and took the passengers hostage.
At that time, the robbers grabbed the mobile phones and cash from the passengers by holding a knife to their throats. More than Rs 15,000 was reportedly looted from one victim. The man was on his way to the hospital for treatment.

Due to the lack of adequate lighting, closed shops and less crowd, the robbers escaped easily.
A passenger said that the autorickshaw driver’s quick wit saved him from being robbed. After looting the money, the driver drove the auto and left the spot.There is panic among the locals in this incident. Locals have expressed concern about the law and order situation in Rajshahi due to the increase in robbery incidents in recent times.
